Sandra Reeves' career scaled the heights of show-jumping in the 80's and 90's, winning her international acclaim. In stark contrast she now maintains her son's ex-competition ponies that she has rewilded, whilst working alongside animals in a profound way.
Sandra's book, Behind Their Noble Faces deconstructs equestrianism.
It addresses the injustices horses suffer in our hands and by our ruling, and the fine balance between our quest for glory and self-gratification, and the horse’s experience, in terms of welfare and wellbeing.
She uses her insight to dispel myths and leave behind the outmoded practises obscured behind the glamour of the show-ring and race-track, for the betterment of horses.
She hopes this book will stand horses in better stead, gain them more of our understanding and more of our empathy so they can enjoy healthier happier lives and improved careers.
